QUILT-MAKING FOR BEGINNERS: TERMS, TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES

In this class you will learn the basic building blocks that lead to a lifetime of successful quilt-making.  A hand-on approach will explore the following.
1 Quilt terminology
2 Essential tools needed for design and cutting
3 How to read a pattern
4 Basic color theory
5 Quilt block basics–9-patch and half-square triangle
6 Simplifying block construction

At the end of this course, with homework required, you will have completed your first quilt-top!  Please note that you will need to bring your sewing machine to class and have a basic knowledge of machine operation and sewing, in general.  A practice kit for 9-patch and half-square triangle blocks will be provided.
