I’m Teresa Packer, owner of Austin’s Sewing Center. I purchased the store in October of 2008 and I’m thrilled to continue Austin’s 56 year tradition of quality sewing machine sales and service. We’re your One-Stop, Gotta-Shop sewing machine center. Centrally located in the heart of Fern Creek, at 5640 Bardstown Road (just south of S. Hurstbourne Lane, and only 1.6 miles north of I-265, just behind McDonalds), our super store is only minutes from any location in Louisville and Southern Indiana.

Our store features 7200 square feet of bright, spacious shopping space, including a beautiful dedicated classroom and private classroom, long arm quilting area, and a large sewing machine showroom. You’ll also find designer fabrics for quilting, Quilting kits, fashion, and bridal projects, along with a multitude of sewing and quilting notions, embroidery software, and machine accessories.  We also offer alterations and custom embroidery.

Austin’s is a proud distributor of Koala cabinets, and Tailor Made Cabinets, as well as sewing chairs. We’re probably best known, though, for our huge selection of sewing, quilting, and embroidery threads from brands such as Quilter’s Select, Razzle Dazzle, Robison Anton, Isacord, Sulky, YLI, Madeira, American & Efrid, Superior, King Tut, Maxi lock, Gutermann, Mettler, Metrosene, Filaine, Aufifil, Cotona, Wooly Nylon and Aerofil, to name just a few. Need stabilizers for machine embroidery? We’ve got ’em, along with an assortment of quilting and heirloom laces and interfacings, plus embellishments like hot fix crystals, beading, and silk ribbon.

As an educational center, we love to assist our customers with their various projects with advice that will assure success.  Our talented technical service department can tune up and repair your machines and give advice on keeping your machines in top shape.

When you purchase an innovative Baby Lock, Pfaff, Brother, or Juki, machine at Austin’s, you’ll receive on-going support from our staff. We offer private educational training for new machine owners, along with group classes to stretch your creativity and help you fully utilize your machine. We also carry a complete line of accessories and software for all four of our sewing machine brands. Our fully-trained technical staff takes pride in keeping your machines in top working order and is qualified to service all sewing machine brands.
