May Embroidery Club In-the-Hoop Zipper Bag

May’s embroidery club is an In-the-Hoop zippered bag.  If you have never made a project that sews a zipper in the hoop, this is a great opportunity.  Your bag will be fully-lined and you have opportunities to add a ruffle, decorative top strip and tabs.  We will make the 5 x 7 Hoop size in class.
This collection by JuJu includes several sizes.

Pre-wound Bobbin
A thread color to match your fabrics
CUTTING CHART 
Front Bottom Fabric       5″ x 9″
Front Top Fabric            2.5″ x 9″
Ruffle or Lace Trim        9″–no more than 1-1/2″ wide
Zipper, Nylon size 3       9″
Back Fabric                   7″ x 9″
Lining Fabric      CUT 2   7″ x 9″
I suggest you fuse a light-weight interfacing to the front and back pieces.  I used Shape-Flex
